LEONARD C. BEASLEY
It is with deep sorrow that we share the news that the President and CEO of our company passed away at the age of 79 in his home in Harlingen, Texas during the early morning hours of Saturday, March 26, 2016.
Leonard was born June 17, 1936 to Lemon and MaryAnn Beasley in Hazel Green, Kentucky. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and completed his service while stationed in Fort Hood, Texas. Upon his honorable discharge, he and his wife, Allene, moved to Sugar Land, Texas where he began his career with Brawner Paper Company, Inc. on October 4, 1960. Leonard was promoted to the position of President and CEO upon the death of Thom Brawner in 1973. He spent the next 43 years at the helm of our company, and over that time developed many lasting friendships with his business associates and colleagues.
Leonard is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Len and Sandra Beasley of Sugar Land, Texas, and his daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Warren Christensen of Studio City, California. He was also the proud grandfather of Trey and William Beasley of Sugar Land, Texas and a devoted brother to his siblings in Kentucky.
Leonard was a loving husband, father, boss, mentor, and friend. He loved people, and always took time to talk to everyone. He was passionate about fishing and Kentucky Wildcats basketball. But, most of all, he loved his family and closest friends. He will be deeply missed.
Leonard will be laid to rest next to his beloved Allene in the family cemetery in Hazel Green, Kentucky. A memorial service will be scheduled for later this spring.
